A guerilla gig at Cheddar Gorge

October 9th, 2010

So, whilst driving through Cheddar Gorge one of us suggested to stop and do a guerilla gig. A quick park of the car, and a short climb later saw us sitting towards the top of a grass bank, that looked much less steeper from the ground :)

We perfomed one song there to a group of ramblers far down below, then moved to a slightly less steep incline to do a few more songs. Twas lovely to be playing outside in the open air again.

End of the Road Festival thanks

October 5th, 2010

Thank you to all the people who stopped to listen to us at the many guerilla gigs we did around this years End of the Road festival and for all the wonderful feedback we received from people afterwards.

I think my two favourite gigs were on the top deck of the doubledecker bus that served tea and cake and the last gig we did in the woods on Sunday night, to a small crowd of appreciative listeners.

Hopefully we’ll manage to sort things out in time to get to also play on one of the main stages at next years festival.

Glastonbury thanks

July 4th, 2010

Thank you to all those who came to see me and Matt play at Glastonbury last weekend. I had a great time and ended up doing around 7 gigs altogether, a couple on my own but mostly with the amazing Matt Kelly.

Thank you also to the equally  amazing Matt Tweed who did some great bazouki playing with me at my 4.30am gig on Wednesday night/Thursday morning and did sterling work getting the cafe to keep us fuelled with Brandy Hot Chocolates :)

sunset... or sunrise... in the Greenfields at Glastonbury 2010

All the free promo CDs went within the first 2 days… must take more next time.

The BBC decided to film me whilst sitting in the permaculture garden in the Greenfields eating my breakfast which was a bit strange. I’m not sure they’ll use the footage as I had a rather puzzled look on my face at the time whilst questioning the vegetarian status of the sausage from said breakfast :)

For those wondering, it was vegetarian.
