About sugardrum
Sugardrum is a musical umbrella under which the singer and guitarist Nigel Bunner writes and performs his story telling songs. Sometimes he is joined under this umbrella by some very talented musical friends who add vocals, violin, cello, flute, percussion and keyboards into the mix.
Past gigs have included the Greenfields at Glastonbury Festival, Small World Festival, Secret Garden Party, Wildheart Gathering, Tribal Earth Festival, Bimble Inn Bandala Festival, the Big Green Gathering, various indoor venues across London, Brighton and the West Country and numerous collaborative fundraising events they have helped put on together with the Wupadupa collective.
Sugardrum are just as happy playing unplugged guerilla gigs as they are on the stage. Some random places where they have performed include Cheddar Gorge in Somerset, England, a wooded glade lit up by fairy lights, a train travelling through India and on the top deck of a double decker bus that was doubling up as a cafe at the time, where the customers jammed along with their songs.
This winter Sugardrum are recording their debut full length album, to be followed by a UK tour in 2012 once the album is ready.
I saw you playing in the forest at End Of The Road, you were quite simply the best act of the weekend, in my eyes.
